We are seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic, self-starter with a strong background in social media management and a passion for international travel to help maintain our leadership role in the Cuba travel market. 


InsightCuba, a leading provider of licensed travel to Cuba for U.S. citizens, is accepting applications for the position of Social Media Coordinator/Staff Writer for immediate hire at our world headquarters in New Rochelle, NY.   


As an insightCuba Social Media Coordinator/Staff Writer you will work with a dedicated team focused on providing incredible travel experiences, exciting products, and outstanding customer service.

Spanish language or prior experience in Cuba is not required. 




  • Have a deep understanding  across global social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, YouTube, tumblr, snapchat, periscope, Google +, Trip Advisor, and beyond. 

  • Develop, manage and post a social media content calendar for insightCuba for travel and Cuba related content- including visuals and copy in the brand aesthetic and voice, ensuring it includes the right balance of original travel content that aligns to brand strategy plus user-generated content. 

  • Creatively and proactively engage consumers, influencers and advocates across social media to drive brand conversations and advocacy.  

  • Act as insightCuba’s “social media reporter”, learning about upcoming, social media-worthy product launches, competitor’s activities, media partnerships, international news, and press events -- so they can be incorporated into the social media content calendar and play a role in overall marketing strategy. 

  • Track travel and Cuba related trends and news with momentum in social media. Brainstorm with insightCuba Marketing Department on new content ideas, reposts, retweets, and re-grams so brand is participating in relevant daily social media conversations. 

  • Understand social media analytics and be part of the team that adjusts content accordingly. 

  • Stay up to date on new social media tools, best practices and how other organizations and companies are using them, so that the insightCuba brand can be at the forefront of these technologies. 

  • Monitor insightCuba conversations, comments, and questions on social media sites and work with guest’s services team to manage responses. 

  • Strategize, manage, write, and monitor insightCuba blog keeping in mind SEO, brand, and overarching marketing strategy. 

  • Write and edit website content as needed. 



  • Bachelor’s Degree in communications, marketing or other related field 

  • 1-3 years work experience in social media, communications or content marketing 

  • Experience in community management required 

  • Understanding of the social media universe, including professional experience with YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, Pinterest, Tumblr, Google+, Drupal, Trip Advisor etc. 

  • Excels at research, is able to identify threats and opportunities in social media content 

  • Ability to work individually on a project or in a team environment 

  • Must be flexible to adapt priorities as needed to in a fast-paced results driven environment 

  • Must be able to work within tight deadlines under minimal supervision 

  • Superior project management skills 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

  • While not required, experience with Photoshop, basic HTML/CSS skills, and design skills are a PLUS 


Salary is commensurate with skills and experience. Full benefits package after 90-days of employment includes:  full medical insurance, 401(k) plan, paid vacation, sick leave, and holidays.
