Lawyers in Cuba Tour

6 Days / 5 Nights

  • Havana
  • Matanzas
  • Varadero

Surprising to many, Cuba’s legal system renders similarities aplenty to that of the United States. But as a nation celebrating 56 years since the Cuban Revolution, distinct aspects abound.  Governed by the National Assembly of the People, meeting with Cuban lawyers, law professors and judges during your time in Cuba will afford access into an intriguing legal system.

Your journey begins in Old Havana, Cuba’s famed quarter that seduces with Spanish colonial architecture and color galore. Throughout the week, you’ll engage in a comprehensive study of the Cuban legal system – from the electoral system to teaching of law in universities, to family codes and criminal law in Cuba. You’ll gain insight into similarities between the neighboring countries, all while discussing bilateral relations with the United States. In between, we’ll take in bouts of Cuban talent, thanks to the dedicated artists and young authors spanning the island nation.

Fueling a dose of wanderlust into the trip, we’ll swap the Cuban capital for a getaway westbound. Exploring the alleged City of Bridges, Matanzas will reveal itself groundbreaking, home to the tallest bridge in Cuba. From here onwards, the journey continues on to Varadero, a Carribean slice of paradise, for a dip in turquoise waters before heading back to Havana.
