Day 2

After a relaxed breakfast onboard, we’ll head into Trinidad, a meticulously preserved Spanish colonial city, sometimes called “the museum city of Cuba” because of its stately architecture, cobblestone streets, palaces, and plazas.

This morning we will walk through the town with a representative of the Office of the City Historian and interact with residents along the way. We will attend a local architect’s presentation and visit a scale model of the city.

Next, we’ll stop at the Museo Romantico located in the old palace of the Count Brunet or the Palacio Cantero Museum and take in breathtaking views of Trinidad. Visit the studio of Lazaro, a very unique woodcarver, and enjoy some more sightseeing of this UNESCO World Heritage site. Day 5

Day at Sea-

Enjoy the onboard amenities as the Voyager makes her way toward Havana. Cuba’s capital, Havana is the largest city in the Caribbean. Rich in colonial history and celebrated culture, it is no wonder that figures such as Ernest Hemingway put down roots.

Onboard the Voyager the Cruise Director and local guide will conduct informative programs and lectures about Cuba and its people, explaining the meaningful exchanges that will be taking place during the people to people program.

Day 6

After breakfast onboard, we’ll disembark for a walking exploration of Old Havana. Old Havana is considered one of the most impressive historical city centers in the Caribbean and in the Americas. We will stop at Fusterlandia, studio of artist Jose Rodriguez Fuster, who was inspired by Gaudi in Barcelona and Brancusi in Rome but most of all by Picasso and Dubuffet. His brightly colored mermaids, roofs, walls, benches, doorways and roosters stretch across houses and adorn the entire area.

Lunch will be at one of Cuba’s delicious paladares, followed by a stop at the Merger Art Studio to view some magnificent sculptures and beautiful paintings before we continue to the San Jose Arts and Crafts Market. Here, in an old 1885 warehouse near the pier, you will find wonderful gifts from carvings, shirts, art, music and more.

After a wonderful dinner ashore, it’s time to celebrate at the famous Tropicana nightclub show. We will overnight on the Voyager in Havana.

Then it’s a short drive back to Havana for an exciting performance from the Havana Compass dance troupe. These gifted percussionists use drums, chairs, and anything they can find to beat out magnificent dance rhythms, weaving a colorful and exciting dance performance that you are sure to enjoy and long remember.

Back onboard the Voyager we will enjoy a very special farewell dinner.

Cruise Cuba

The ship operator requires that passengers arrive on a group charter flight to ensure a smooth arrival process.  Guests that book Cruise Cuba are automatically booked on a reserved charter flight departing early in the morning from Miami to Cuba.

The cost of this charter flight is in addition to the tour fee and is listed on the website. You will be invoiced for both the tour fee and the charter flight. The flight cost includes, your Cuban visa, and Cuban airport departure tax.

Please check the date of the cruise to determine arrival or departure cities. In all cases, you will need to arrange for domestic round trip airfare from your home airport to Miami. Depending on the direction of the ship, and where the cruise begins and ends the voyage, the flight will either be:

Arrival: MIAMI-HAVANA

Depart: CIENFUEGOS-MIAMI

or

Arrival: MIAMI-CIENFUEGOS

Depart: HAVANA-MIAMI

We highly recommended flying into Miami one day before your departure date, and booking an overnight near the Miami International Airport, due to early check-in and flight times for the group charter flights. We also recommend booking your return flight from Miami to your home airport in the evening or at night to ensure that you can make your connection after arriving in Miami.

Flight itineraries with actual flight times will be sent to guests via email approximately 30 days prior to departure.
