PRIVATELY GUIDED-WALKING TOUR OF OLD HAVANA
Experience the history and heart of Havana, guided by an expert local guide. Discover the city's rich culture as you traverse its enchanting streets, uncovering hidden gems along the way. Explore a labyrinth of cobblestone streets during a privately-guided walking tour of Havana’s city-center, La Habana Vieja. Founded in 1512, you’ll visit some of Old Havana’s most important sites: the Plaza de Armas, Plaza de San Francisco, Plaza de Cathedral, Plaza Vieja, and more.
FARMER’S MARKET
Visit a local farmers market, where you’ll get a first-hand look at Cuba’s agricultural revolution. In these bustling markets you’ll find only local food – almost always organic. This switch to natural farming came in the early 90s when oil and pesticide shortages forced Cuba to radically alter its agricultural economy. Today, the country is a model for the world, as other communities trend toward more sustainable farming methods.
BEHIND THE SCENES - CIGAR HUMIDORS
Cuban Cigar boxes can be as masterful as the cigar itself. The Cuban equivalent of “meat and potatoes” may as well be “rum and cigars” with both sugarcane and tobacco cultivated in Cuba. Naturally, Cubans are true connoisseurs of both products, and they know exactly what it takes to find the right match of flavors. We’ll meet a group of renowned artists dedicated to the art of handmade humidors.
ERNEST HEMINGWAY'S FINCA VIGIA
Venture to Finca Vigía, where Hemingway lived and wrote his most famous novel, The Old Man and the Sea. At Finca Vigía, which is supported by independent organizations, you can meet the local caretakers as you walk the perimeter of the house and peer through the windows to see how it was kept when Hemmingway lived there. The walls are lined with bookshelves and covered with paintings, some of them depicting Hemingway on his African safaris.
CRUISING IN PRE-1959 CLASSIC AMERICAN CAR
Through this unique experience, you become part of a narrative that embraces connection and understanding. Riding in a classic car in Havana is more than a nostalgic journey; it is an opportunity to support and celebrate those Cuban entrepreneurs who lovingly restore vintage automobiles and give visitors rides as a way to support themselves and their families.
