Athens
Day 1

Arrive in Athens, where you will check in to the hotel and enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure.

Athens
Day 2

Today's visit begins with the most famous temple of the ancient city: the Parthenon, dedicated to Athena, patron goddess of Athens. Walking up a winding path toward the Acropolis, we will pass through the Propylaea and see the Erechtheum Temple and the Porch of the Caryatids in the distance. Continue on foot to the New Acropolis Museum. For the first time, all surviving treasures of the Acropolis are collected in one place, steps away from their original source. The collections on display are discoveries of the Acropolis, post-Parthenon, and Roman periods and the excavation site when the museum was built. Continue with a guided stroll around the nearby historical Plaka area, where you’ll enjoy free time for lunch at your leisure.

Before returning to the hotel, we’ll take a scenic drive through Athens, observing the Parliament, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, and the Panathenaic Stadium used for the modern Olympics.

Day 3

Enjoy the morning at leisure followed by an afternoon visit to the National Archaeological Museum, which boasts the world’s finest collection of Greek antiquities. The highlights include the golden mask of Agamemnon, Minoan frescoes unearthed at Akrotiri, and the superb bronze Poseidon. We complete our introduction to Athens with a scenic drive, passing some of the most important landmarks of the city. Watch for the marble Olympic Stadium, where the Olympic Games were revived in 1896, Hadrian’s Arch and the former Royal Palace. Later we will transfer to Marina Zea for embarkation on our 7-day cruise to the Greek Isles. Enjoy a welcome cocktail as we set sail for Poliegos. Overnight at sea.

POLIEGOS / FOLEGANDROS
Day 4

We arrive in the morning in Poliegos, a tiny uninhabited island known for its astounding beaches. There will be an opportunity for swimming, followed by a barbecue lunch on deck. We continue sailing to Folegandros, one of the most beautiful and lesser-known islands in the Aegean Sea. Once referred to as “an untouched piece of true Greece,” this island has retained its authenticity despite a recent increase in tourism. Walk through the picturesque villages and dine at a traditional Greek taverna.

Santorini
Day 5

Today, we disembark in Santorini to explore the capital city of Fira, followed by an excursion to the excavations at Akrotiri. The excavations have uncovered prehistoric settlements, including multi-storied buildings, furniture, magnificent wall paintings, and elaborate drainage systems.  We leave Akrotiri to tour the villages of Santorini, including the small, enchanting village of Oia. Known for its breathtaking view over the caldera, Oia is one of the most photographed sites in Greece. Overnight in Santorini.

Visit the 13th-century Venetian castle ruins for a panoramic view of the whitewashed houses and classic mansions separated by narrow whitewashed streets. The picturesque fishing village of Naoussa is considered one of the prettiest in the Cyclades. Roam the labyrinthine streets past white houses, churches and taverns, or explore the numerous golden beaches. Back on the ship, put on your dancing shoes and show off your moves during our famous Greek Night. Overnight in Paros.
