Hotel Mascotte
Hotel Overview

The Hotel Mascotte is found in the center of Remedios, a few steps from the Plaza Martí. Its central location allows you to walk to a number of historic landmarks in the area.

Hotel Mascotte is a gem of architectural preservation. A neoclassical building from the 1860s, it was first the home of a local sugar baron before being transformed into a hotel – with telegraph – in 1879. This is one of Cuba’s most enchanting boutique hotels. In 2004, it received the "E" distinction, a category saved for those hotels exhibiting the highest standard of architectural restoration and historical patrimony, combined with personalized service. The lovely courtyard bar with blue painted cast iron patio furniture, the 10 high-ceilinged guest rooms, and the quaint restaurant all breathe a charismatic, unique air.

Remedios is found in the north of the province of Villa Clara, 50 kilometers east of the provincial capital, Santa Clara, and nine kilometers from the north coast. One of the first Cuban cities founded by Spanish colonists, it is a town that is steeped in tradition and history. From the wild carnival that takes place each December, to the well-preserved colonial architecture of the buildings, there's an authentic, intriguing atmosphere that many visitors find infectious.
