The staterooms aboard the Pearl Mist are the finest in the cruise industry. The Pearl Mist features three areas to catch some sun on the upper three decks. Sun Shade includes a couple of awnings providing ample shade. Guests can choose from a mix of sitting, rocking and lounge chairs, cushy wicker armchairs, sofas and love seats.

Coral Lounge

The Coral Lounge has one bridge table, a sofa and a couple of chairs for reading. There is no drink or food service. Also available is a free-to-use Internet-connected computer.

Our premium category L staterooms are over 300 square feet and are located on the 5th deck level of the ship allowing for plenty of privacy. No attention to detail was spared in the design of these modern staterooms. Each comes with sliding glass doors leading to a private balcony where guests can enjoy pleasant breezes and scenic views.  Some of these rooms have adjoining doors, an option for guests who are traveling in a group or who wish to have a living room.

To make your journey as convenient as possible, the Pearl Mist will depart from Ft. Lauderdale, on the southeastern coast of Florida. This vibrant city is known for its beaches and boating canals as well as The Strip, a promenade lined with upscale outdoor restaurants, bars, boutiques and luxury hotels.  You may decide to arrive a day early to take advantage of some of the city’s highlights.

Day 2

The colorful capital of Cuba, Havana is a mesmerizing city with beautiful colonial edifices and a dramatic coastline. Known for its architecturally impressive plazas and outstanding series of fortifications, Old Havana, a UNESCO World Heritage site, displays Cuban culture at its finest. Led by our local guide, explore its plazas which are home to churches, palaces, castles, monuments, and markets that come together to create one of the most impressive historical city centers in the Caribbean basin.

Visit Finca Vigia, the home of legendary author Ernest Hemingway from 1931 to 1961. Step into the writing room where he wrote some of his most celebrated novels. Your people-to-people interaction will continue as you visit local community programs which showcase talented artists and musicians. In Cojimar, explore the fishing village made famous by Hemingway and listen to the fascinating stories told by area fishermen.

In the evening visit the world famous Tropicana Cabaret Under the Stars with a nightly show featuring spectacularly costumed showgirls and skilled entertainers who dazzle the audience with music and dance.

The capital city of Havana is far too interesting to see it all in just one day! You will spend your second day continuing to explore everything that makes Havana one of the greatest capitals in the Caribbean Basin. For an authentic taste of Cuban cuisine, dine at a local paladar, one of Cuba’s small, privately owned, and operated restaurants.

Explore Havana in a Classic American car and view the city’s many amazing buildings, each with its own unique architectural character. Its plazas are home to churches, palaces, castles, monuments, and markets which come together to create one of the most impressive historical city centers in the Caribbean basin. Engage with locals to learn firsthand about the culture and traditions of Old Havana, a UNESCO-recognized site.

Grab a good book and curl up in one of our spacious lounges, or relax on your private balcony and enjoy the passing landscapes as we make our way to Cienfuegos. As you cruise, delight in the locally inspired cuisine prepared by our team of master chefs.

Day 5

Nicknamed “La Perla del Sur” (the Pearl of the South), Cienfuegos is a charming community ideally situated along the southern coast of Cuba. Originally settled by French immigrants in 1819, Cienfuegos is Spanish for “one hundred fires.” Our stop in this picturesque city will include a guided exploration of the renowned Botanical Garden and Cienfuegos Museum.

Visit the famous Botanical Garden of Cienfuegos for a glimpse into some of the rarest flora species on the island. This tropical garden is a treasure that few have had the chance to see. Local botanists will guide you through the garden, explaining the variety of flora and fauna native to Cuba. Enjoy a narrated exploration of downtown Cienfuegos including a stop at the Cienfuegos Museum and the Thomas Terry Theater, a national monument built in 1863 with an ornate Italian style. Mingle with the locals as they go about their daily lives on the Boulevard Santa Isabel, a historic street filled with artisan stands, antiques vendors, and boutique restaurants. Visit a performing arts school and meet its creative students who will showcase their talents with a concert performance.

Day 6

Located in South Central Cuba, between the mountains of the Escambray Range and the Caribbean Sea, the town of Trinidad is a well-preserved view of old world Cuba. Founded in 1514, the town is lined with cobbled streets, neoclassical buildings, and exquisitely wrought iron railings. Spend the day exploring art studios, a ceramics workshop, and two of the city’s renowned museums.

Our visit to Trinidad presents the old city from an artist’s perspective. Enjoy a stop at two local studios, Casa de Yudith and Casa de Lazaro, where you can meet and interact with local artists to learn about their lives and work. Visit Casa del Alfarero, a pottery workshop, for a demonstration of the ceramic making process. Led by a local guide, discover the Museum of Colonial Architecture, which features a large collection of architectural treasures dating back to the 1600s and Museo Romantico which overlooks the main square and has a brilliant exhibition of porcelain, glass, and paintings.

Day 7

Casilda is a seaport town in the Sancti Spíritus Province. Part of the Ministry of the Fishing Industry’s shrimp zone, Casilda is known for its high-quality seafood which is exported all over the world including Asia, Europe, and North America. The beautiful beaches of Casilda, including the Playa Ancón, make it a popular destination where colorful artisan shops line the waterfront. The Trinidad to Cumanayagua Loop is a circular drive which offers elevated vistas of the Caribbean Sea as well as some of Cuba’s most pristine mountain scenery.

Enjoy a guided visit to El Nicho waterfalls, located inside the Gran Parque Natural Topes de Collantes, a forested park that extends across the Sierra Escambray mountain range in Central Cuba. This series of freshwater cascades has become a highlight for locals and visitors with its beautiful views of Central Cuba and the valley below.

As we cruise to Santiago, see the remote southern coastline of Cuba stretching out before you. Enjoy the sundeck views of islands, white sand beaches, and small coastal towns along the way. Or, head to the lounge to take part in an activity or interactive discussion presented by one of our onboard experts.

Day 9

The town of El Cobre, located in a high valley within a mountain range, features a shrine to Cuba's patron saint Our Lady of Charity (La Virgen de la Caridad del Cobre). The Cuban people come from miles around to pay their respects to their patron saint at El Sanctuario de Nuestra Señora de la Caridad del Cobre, a unique triple dome church built in 1927.

Settled in the beautiful mountains of El Cobre, visit the National Shrine Basilica of Our Lady of Charity. According to legend, during a storm in the 17th-century, three local fishermen saw an apparition of the Virgin Mary. The apparition guided them to safety, later becoming a statue of the Virgin Mary cradling a baby for which they built a church and placed the statue inside. Interact with the locals to understand why this famous statue housed in this storied Roman Catholic Church is still considered to be one of the most important sites in Cuba and why to this day, people come from all over the world to receive her blessing.

The second largest city in Cuba after Havana, Santiago de Cuba is a gleaming cultural capital lying on the Santiago de Cuba Bay with the towering Sierra Maestra Mountains providing the perfect backdrop. The city’s close proximity to Jamaica and other Caribbean isles has created an extremely diverse metropolis unlike any other Cuban city. Experience the blend of Cuban and Caribbean culture reflected in the city’s art, architecture, music, and cuisine.

As your ship sails into Santiago, you can view the historic Morro Castle. Led by a local guide, explore this magnificent fortress, built in 1589, and learn about how it was constructed to prevent raids on Havana harbor. Visit the iconic Plaza de la Revolución, one of the largest city squares in the world, and discover its history as a site for political rallies. Experience the city’s thriving cultural life and strong Afro-Cubano influence which has resulted in a variety Cuban musical genres. As the hometown of many famed Cuban musicians, your people-to-people discoveries include meeting some of the city’s local musicians and witnessing their talents first hand. Explore Santa Ifigenia Cemetery, the final resting place of many noted Cubans, including the 19th-century revolutionary José Marti and Fidel Castro, whose tombs are guarded by a regularly changing contingent of Cuban soldiers.

Enjoy breakfast aboard the Pearl Mist as we return to port in Ft. Lauderdale. Arrive in Florida with a new perspective of Cuba and memories that will last a lifetime. If you were unable to explore the vibrant Ft. Lauderdale region before embarking, or would just like a second day to see it all, your Cruise Director will help you make the most of your day in South Florida before the return trip home.

This itinerary may be subject to change as a result of weather and other factors not in our control. Our vessels have been granted the longest stays of any cruise boats in the port of Havana. Since space at the dock itself is severely limited, this itinerary might involve a combination of having to tender in to shore, as well as docking at one of only two piers. Sailing direction and activities in this itinerary should be considered a sample only. Final itineraries are sent to guests one to two weeks prior to departure. Due to the unique nature of our programming, each departure is custom designed and not every activity listed on this itinerary is always available. Please rest assured that our team in both Cuba and the U.S. take special care in planning each excursion and draws from almost two decades of experience, relationships, and activities to make each itinerary exceptional.
