Yes. Cuba is very safe. In fact, Cuba was recently ranked the safest country in the world at the Madrid Tourism Fair. It also has the lowest crime rate in Latin America. The average traveler has little reason to worry about personal safety in the streets, hotels or any other places a person might visit. While petty crime does exist, it occurs only rarely and poses little problem for attentive travelers.
Contrary to political differences between the U.S. and Cuba, the Cuban people receive Americans happily and with open arms.
