Carmen Christiansen
Carmen completed her bachelor's degree in Spanish and Latin American studies at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, British Columbia. While an undergraduate, she studied for a year at the University of La Habana in Cuba, and followed this with directed studies on Cuban media.
Her interest in Cuba and the Cuban people inspired her to work with an international development organization, for which she coordinated and led teachers and students in educational exchanges to the island country. After this, she began working with American groups in Cuba.
"I love the people-to-people interaction that is part of American tourism in Cuba. It is extremely rewarding to be part of the experience of people traveling to such a fascinating and distinct country in our world," she says. "And it is an honor to share in the passion of the participants who want a unique and customized experience in Cuba."
